Matte nickel safety rosette round

SKG**® or SKG***® quality mark?
Important safety distinction for SKG-certified security rosettes. SKG**® (two stars). Tested for 3 minutes of resistance to a hand tool burglary attempt. Meets the PKVW minimum (Police Quality Mark for Safe Living) and standard insurance requirements for contents coverage. For the average Dutch front door in a normal neighborhood. SKG***® (three stars). Tested for 5 minutes with heavier tools. Intersteel SKG3 version in this collection. For villa insurance with a premium discount, front doors directly on the street in burglary-prone areas, or for the maximum security level. In practice: SKG** is sufficient for 90% of Dutch front doors; SKG*** is required for specific insurance packages or when a burglary risk is reported directly by the local police. When do you choose round versus square?
The choice of shape between round (this collection) and square/rectangular (see matte nickel security rosette collection category) depends on your door hardware package and architecture. Choose round when: your door handle is mounted on a round rosette (visual consistency); your front door is classic, Art Deco, or monumental from the 1930s; you want to emphasize soft organic forms; your existing cylinder recess is round. Choose square or rectangular: with a square handle rosette and for an industrial interior. Visual consistency: when in doubt, choose the same shape as your door handle rosette. A round security rosette with a round handle rosette always looks visually calmer than a mix of shapes. For a classic 1930s residential front door where the other hardware is round: a round security rosette is the logical choice.
Matte nickel galvanic versus PVD
The two versions in this collection feature different matte nickel finish techniques. Intersteel matte nickel electroplated. Sizes and compatibility

Installation and maintenance
Installing a security rosette requires slightly more precision than a standard rosette due to the thicker construction and SKG requirements. 1. Remove existing rosette: Loosen 2-4 M5 screws (security rosettes have standard M5 instead of M4 for greater force transfer), remove the old rosette. 2. Check cylinder position: The profile cylinder must be exactly centered in the recess. Not protruding (gives a burglar grip) and not sunk too deep (potential problems with key operation). 3. Place new rosette and screw it tight: Use the supplied M5 bolts, tighten hand-tight but do not overtighten. Twisting under force must remain possible. Maintenance: Intersteel galvanic. Once a month, use a damp microfiber cloth; avoid scouring pads and aggressive cleaners; Formani PVD. Maintenance-free; wiping once a month is sufficient. For cylinder mechanism: twice a year, apply dry Teflon spray into the keyhole (NOT WD-40).
