Nickel Profile Cylinder Rosette Round
A round profile cylinder rosette is the visible cover element surrounding a profile cylinder lock in an interior door. It consists of a round metal plate (45-53 mm diameter) with a central oval recess (17 mm wide × 33 mm high) through which the profile cylinder passes. The round shape is classic and organic, fitting for Art Deco, 1930s, and monumental interiors where soft forms dominate, as well as for round handle rosettes on the door handle side for visual consistency. When do you choose around?
The choice of shape between round (this collection) and square (see square nickel profile cylinder rosette) depends on your door hardware package and interior style. Choose round when: your door handle is mounted on a round rosette (visual consistency of shape); your interior is classic, country, Art Deco, or monumental 1930s; you want to emphasize soft organic forms; you have an English cottage look or French country-style interior. Choose square when: your door handle is mounted on a square rosette; your interior is sleek modern, contemporary, or industrial. When in doubt, choose the same shape as your door handle rosette. Visual consistency between the handle side and the cylinder side of the door is always more pleasing to the eye than a mix of shapes.
Concealed or visible screw fastening?
Two mounting versions distinguish round profile cylinder rosettes. Concealed (Intersteel Rosette Profile Cylinder Hole Concealed, Intersteel Rosettes Profile Cylinder Hole Round Concealed Matt Nickel, Formani MSY50, Olivari). Fixing via a click system on the side or a central spindle recess; no visible screw heads on the front. Sleek, premium appearance. Visible screw fixing (Intersteel Rosette Profile Cylinder Hole Matt Nickel / Base Nickel, Aprile Comfort, HDD Pro retro versions). 2 x M4 screw heads visible on the front of the rosette. Functionally identical to concealed but visually less understated. For modern contemporary interiors with an aesthetic focus: choose concealed. For budget-friendly replacement or a historically accurate monumental execution: visible screws work well and are common in older homes.

Sizes. Small, medium, or large diameter

Three nickel finishes compared
We divide the models into three finish types. Matte nickel (muted). Intersteel matte concealed and visible, Aprile Comfort/Premium/Prestige, Formani MSY50 matte, HDD Pro retro versions. Satin silver tint, more fingerprint-resistant, suitable for modern contemporary and monumental renovations where a muted look is desired. Gloss nickel (polished). Stile, Intersteel gloss version. Reflective soft silver sheen, classic appearance, suitable for Art Deco and 1930s homes. Nickel titanium PVD (Olivari). Italian PVD coating in gloss and matte, 4500 HV hardness, 15+ years UV resistant without color loss. For those who want to avoid color concerns in 20+ years. When in doubt: for classic Art Deco choose gloss nickel; for modern sleek choose matte nickel; for a long-term investment package choose Olivari titanium PVD.

Maintenance per finish
Three maintenance routines depending on the version. Matte nickel (Intersteel, Aprile, Formani, HDD Pro): damp microfiber cloth 1-2 times a year, no polish paste (scratches the matte structure). Avoid ammonia, acetone, and vinegar. Gloss nickel (Stile, Intersteel Gloss): wipe water stains dry immediately, use a damp microfiber cloth for dirt, avoid scouring pads. For lasting soft shine, optionally apply a layer of furniture wax once a year (very thin, then polish with a dry cloth). Olivari Titanium PVD: a damp microfiber cloth once a month is sufficient. The PVD coating is self-cleaning due to its hydrophobic properties. For fingerprints: a drop of neutral soap, rinse, and wipe dry. For all finishes: avoid chlorine-based cleaners and acetone. These can dull the coating over time. Profile cylinder mechanism: in case of stiff key operation, apply dry graphite or Teflon spray into the key opening once a year (NOT WD-40 or oil).
