Brushed stainless steel safety rosette, round
Brushed stainless steel round security rosette. SKG-compliant core pull ring in a timeless round shape for front and back doors
The brushed stainless steel security rosette in a round design is the most requested SKG-certified cylinder protection in the Netherlands. The timeless round shape suits almost every front door, from classic villas to modern new builds. The AISI 304 stainless steel exterior with a brushed finish conceals fingerprints that would be immediately visible on polished stainless steel. The built-in steel core pull ring behind the visible rosette prevents a burglar from gaining access to the lock mechanism via a core pulling attack (drilling a screw into the cylinder and then pulling it out with great force). This is one of the most commonly used burglary methods in the Netherlands. The difference compared to a standard round profile cylinder rosette is fundamental: a standard rosette is purely aesthetic, while a security rosette physically protects the cylinder via the steel core pull ring. An SKG-certified rosette is often mandatory for the PKVW (Police Quality Mark for Safe Living) and home insurance. At Deurbeslag Expert, you will find 15 round brushed stainless steel security rosettes from Intersteel, AXA , and Nemef.
SKG**® vs SKG***®: which do you choose?
SKG**® (2 stars) offers a minimum of 3 minutes of resistance against core pulling attacks and is the PKVW minimum. Often mandatory for standard home insurance with burglary coverage. Suitable for: standard terraced houses in average neighborhoods, semi-detached houses in quieter neighborhoods, apartments with a portico, and homes where the risk of burglary is normal. SKG***® (3 stars) offers 5 minutes of resistance with additional requirements against core pulling attacks, folding attacks, and advanced drilling methods. Highly recommended for: corner houses where the front door is accessible from multiple directions, detached villas with multiple access routes, homes in high-risk areas with higher burglary rates, or for those who desire the maximum possible security. For insurance with enhanced burglary coverage (especially for valuable contents), SKG***® is sometimes mandatory.
Dimensions and execution
Diameter Ø50 mm or Ø60 mm round. Ø50 mm is the Dutch standard, Ø60 mm for heavy front doors with a large cylinder lock. Cylinder length PC30/30 = 60 mm total (30+30); PC30/35 = 65 mm; PC30/40 = 70 mm. Depending on door thickness and desired cylinder overhang. Maximum cylinder overhang 3 mm. With a larger overhang, additional core pull ring reinforcement is required to guarantee burglary resistance. Screw spacing 38 mm center-to-center as standard between mounting bolts. Thickness 12-18 mm due to integrated steel core pull ring behind the visible stainless steel rosette. SKG level available as SKG**® or SKG***® depending on model. Stainless steel quality AISI 304 for standard outdoor climates, AISI 316 marine-grade for coastal locations.
What exactly is a core pull attack?
In a core pulling attack, a large screw or special spike is drilled into the cylinder. Then, the entire cylinder is pulled out of the lock using a lever or pulling device. This is done quickly (1-2 minutes without protection) and gives the burglar direct access to the lock mechanism, allowing the door to be opened easily. The core pulling ring behind an SKG rosette prevents this attack because the ring physically prevents the cylinder from being pulled out of the lock. The burglar must first overcome both the stainless steel rosette and the steel core pulling ring, which takes at least 3 minutes for SKG**® and 5 minutes for SKG***®. During that time, the chance of detection and intervention is significantly higher, and the burglar usually moves on to another target.

Round stainless steel safety rosette in your facade
In modern new-builds with an aluminium front door in white or anthracite: a round stainless steel rosette fits universally and matches other stainless steel hardware (knob, letterbox, house number). In classic villas with panel doors: a round rosette suits classic proportions and ornamental details. In architect-designed homes that can be interpreted in both modern and classic styles: a round rosette is the safe choice that is not limited to a single style. In corner houses where the front door is accessible from multiple directions: choose SKG***® for maximum burglary resistance. In coastal homes within 10 km of the sea: AISI 316 marine-grade for chloride resistance. In terraced houses where a standard PKVW quality mark suffices: SKG**® for insurance compliance.

Installation and maintenance
Remove the existing cylinder rosette by unscrewing the screws on the front and back of the door. Check the cylinder overhang. If it protrudes more than 3 mm: additional reinforcement is required. Install the security rosette on both sides of the door with the steel core pull ring facing outwards. Secure with the supplied longer bolts through the steel core pull ring. Tighten manually until there is firm contact with the door. Test by turning the cylinder 5 times. It should be without resistance; the rosette should be securely fastened without play. Clean once a month with a microfiber cloth and lukewarm water in the direction of the brush strokes. Avoid scouring pads, ammonia, and acetone. For coastal locations: rinse with fresh water once a month. Lubricate the cylinder twice a year with graphite or lock spray.
