Rectangular brushed stainless steel safety rosette. SKG-compliant core pull ring with a sleek geometric appearance

This rectangular brushed stainless steel security rosette combines SKG-certified core pull protection with a sleek geometric look that complements modern front and back doors with rectangular long-back handles. The AISI 304 stainless steel exterior with a brushed finish (Scotch Brite) conceals fingerprints and minor scratches. The built-in steel core pull ring behind the visible rosette prevents a burglar from pulling the cylinder out of the lock using a core pull attack, one of the most common burglary methods in the Netherlands. The rectangular shape (typically 75×50 mm or 90×50 mm) visually matches rectangular handle and key rosettes on the front door and modern aluminium front door hardware. An SKG-certified rosette is often required for the PKVW quality mark and homeowners insurance. At Deurbeslag Expert, you will find 5 rectangular brushed stainless steel security rosettes from Intersteel.

When do you choose the rectangular version?

The rectangular shape visually complements modern front doors with rectangular long escutcheons. This is especially true in new builds and architect-designed homes where the front door is fitted with rectangular aluminium or steel hardware. For front doors where both the cylinder and handle are mounted via rectangular rosettes: a rectangular security rosette completes the visual package. For modern aluminium front doors with large rectangular glass panels: rectangular is the logical match. For classic villas with panel doors, a round or oval security rosette usually fits better. For modern, sleek front doors with square handle rosettes, choose a square security rosette. Rectangle is an intermediate option between square (sporty) and oval (classic).

SKG**® vs SKG***®

SKG**® (2 stars) offers a minimum of 3 minutes of resistance against core pulling attacks and is the PKVW minimum. Often mandatory for standard homeowners insurance with burglary coverage. Suitable for terraced houses, semi-detached houses, and apartments in normal residential areas. SKG***® (3 stars) offers 5 minutes of resistance with additional requirements against core pulling attacks, bending attacks, and advanced drilling methods. Highly recommended for corner houses, detached villas, and homes in high-risk areas. The difference translates into a thicker steel core pulling ring, better fastening, and additional laboratory testing. For insurance policies with enhanced burglary coverage, SKG***® is sometimes mandatory.

Dimensions and execution

External dimensions 75×50 mm or 90×50 mm rectangular. Depending on model and desired visual appearance. Cylinder length PC30/30 = 60 mm total; PC30/35 = 65 mm; PC30/40 = 70 mm. Depending on door thickness and desired cylinder overhang. Maximum cylinder overhang 3 mm. With a larger overhang, additional core pull ring reinforcement is required to guarantee SKG compliance. Screw spacing 38 mm center-to-center as standard. Thickness 12-18 mm due to integrated steel core pull ring behind the visible stainless steel rosette. SKG level available as SKG**® or SKG***®. Stainless steel quality AISI 304 for standard outdoor climates, AISI 316 marine-grade for coastal locations.

Difference compared to a standard profile cylinder rosette

A standard stainless steel profile cylinder rosette is purely aesthetic. It covers the cylinder for a sleek appearance around the PC cylinder opening but offers no burglary resistance. Suitable for interior doors where an SKG certification is not required. A stainless steel security rosette, on the other hand, has a built-in steel core pulling ring behind the visible stainless steel rosette. This provides physical protection against core pulling attacks where a burglar drills a large screw into the cylinder and then pulls it out using a lever. This is mandatory for front and back doors with an SKG requirement; unnecessary for interior doors. In short: standard profile cylinder rosette for interior doors (aesthetic), security rosette for front and back doors (SKG compliant).

Rectangular stainless steel safety rosette in your facade

In modern new-builds with an aluminium front door and rectangular door hardware: a rectangular security rosette completes the visual package. In architect-designed homes with a sleek geometric appearance: the rectangle matches the other rectangular rosettes on the front door. In commercial buildings and office front doors subject to heavy loads: SKG***® for years of durability. In coastal homes within 10 km of the sea: choose AISI 316 marine-grade for chloride resistance. In corner houses or high-risk areas: SKG***® for maximum burglary protection. In standard terraced houses: SKG**® is sufficient for the PKVW quality mark and insurance.

Installation and maintenance

Remove the existing cylinder rosette by unscrewing the screws on the front and back. Check the cylinder overhang before ordering. If it protrudes more than 3 mm, additional reinforcement is required. Install the security rosette on both sides of the door with the steel core pull ring facing outwards. Secure with the supplied longer bolts through the steel core pull ring. Tighten manually. Test by turning the cylinder 5 times. It should be without resistance. Clean once a month with a microfiber cloth and lukewarm water in the direction of the brush strokes. Avoid scouring pads, ammonia, and acetone. These can cause pitting corrosion. For coastal locations: rinse with fresh water once a month to prevent salt deposits.
