Electronic cylinders

Electronic cylinders are modern profile cylinders with digital access. Operation via key tag, smartphone app, or PIN code instead of a physical key. We carry models: BURG-WÄCHTER ENTRY Home 5000 cylinder and SecuENTRY Pro 7000 with ENTRY 7711 Keypad remote control, plus DOM Tapkey Pro and ENiQ in Single-Sided Access Control, Double-Sided Access Control, and Half-Knob Cylinder versions, DOM Tapkey Pro Key Tag Black, DOM Tapkey and ENIQ LoQ Lever Lock Black, plus DOM Replacement Battery for Tapkey/ENIQ.

What exactly are electronic cylinders?

Electronic cylinders are modern profile cylinders with integrated electronic identification. You open them using a key tag (RFID/NFC chip), smartphone app (Bluetooth), or PIN code (keypad). The cylinder fits into the standard profile cylinder recess of your mortise lock. Therefore, no modification to the door is necessary.

This works ideally for a villa with multiple occupants or for a holiday home where you want to grant guests temporary access. Access can be set per hour, day, or week via the app, with the option to revoke access without replacing a physical key. For the broader cylindercategory with classic designs, see the complete collection.

What is the difference between DOM Tapkey and DOM ENiQ?

DOM Tapkey is a smartphone-controlled system for residential applications. You use the Tapkey app to operate the cylinder via Bluetooth. Plus a key tag version (DOM Tapkey Pro Key Tag) for those who do not want to use a phone. Tapkey works ideally for villas, holiday homes, or rental applications with temporary guest access.

DOM ENiQ is a more professional system for commercial applications (office, school, hospital). Advanced access control with a central management server. Available in Half Knob Cylinder, Single-Sided Access Control, and Double-Sided Access Control versions for various door types. The LoQ Lever Lock is for specific commercial lever doors.

What is BURG-WÄCHTER ENTRY series?

BURG-WÄCHTER is a German premium security manufacturer. The ENTRY series is their line of electronic cylinders for residential and light commercial applications. ENTRY Home 5000 is a basic cylinder with remote control (ENTRY 7711 Keypad). It is suitable for front doors where you want to provide guests with a PIN code. SecuENTRY Pro 7000 is more advanced, offering more access rights and a logging function.

The ENTRY 7711 Keypad is an external PIN code control. You mount the Keypad by the front door and enter your PIN code to operate the cylinder. For the broader BURG-WÄCHTERcategory, see all security models from the German brand.

What is one-way versus two-way access control?

One-sided access control means that electronic identification only takes place from the outside. From the inside, you open it using a rotary knob without identification. This works for a front door where you want to open the interior quickly. Two-sided access control means that electronic identification takes place from both the inside and the outside. For maximum access control.

For residential applications, you usually choose single-sided. Simple and secure. For commercial applications where you want to log both sides, you choose double-sided. The Half Knob Cylinder is a special version with only a knob on the inside (no electronics). For toilet doors or specific interior spaces.

How does this fit into your villa access package?

For a complete villa access package, combine electronic cylinders with other electronic access elements: keypads for additional operation, electronic locks for lever locks and specific door types, plus electronic cylinder accessories for key tags and mounting parts.

For classic mechanical security as a supplement to electronic access, see security hardware with SKG3 versions. For the broader DOMcategory, see all DOM cylinders (classic and electronic).
