How do you measure a bronze doorknob?
Four dimensions are crucial for replacement or new construction:
- Backset: 50, 55 or 60 mm. Distance from lock faceplate to edge of door
- Square pin: 7 or 8 mm. The Dutch standard is 8 mm, the Belgian standard is 7 mm.
- Drilling distance: 38 or 50 mm center-to-center between crank hole and cylinder hole
- Rosette diameter: Ø50–53 mm round or 50×50 mm square
