Which products does Stile carry?

Why is the PVD finish so durable?

Stile’s PVD finish is so durable because the coating is deposited onto the hardware in a vacuum chamber, making it extremely scratch-resistant and colorfast. PVD stands for physical vapor deposition, a technique in which metal particles are bonded to the core layer by layer. The result is a coating that retains its color for years, even under the influence of sunlight, and effectively withstands the high daily wear and tear of a door handle. Which sizes and Dutch standards apply?

All Stile products are designed to Dutch dimensions, even though they are manufactured in Italy. The spindle is 8 mm square, the Dutch standard for interior doors, and fits all common mortise locks. The drilling distance for the rosettes is typically 38 mm center-to-center, and 50 mm for a backplate version. The backset of the corresponding locks is 50, 55, or 60 mm, depending on your door thickness. With these dimensions, you can be sure that the hardware fits your door.

For the PC dimension, the distance between the center of the handle and the center of the cylinder, the standard is 55 mm for interior doors and 72 or 92 mm for front doors with a cylinder. When replacing, always measure your existing spindle and the center distance before ordering so that the new handle fits immediately.
