Dulimex door closers and door catches
Why choose a door catch or door spring?
You choose a Dulimex door catch or door spring when you want a door to close automatically and in a controlled manner. This is useful for interior doors, fire doors, and doors that are often left open, so you don't have to close them manually every time. Dulimex makes these parts robust and affordable.
A door that closes smoothly on its own prevents drafts, keeps heat in, and ensures that a fire door retains its function. With a good door closer, you achieve this without the door slamming shut.
What is the difference between a door catch and a door closer?
The difference lies in the placement and the force. A door catch, such as the Justor, is a compact spring that you mount discreetly to the door or frame and that pulls the door back gently. A door closer is a heavier construction, often mounted on top of the door, that closes larger and heavier doors in a controlled manner.
For a standard interior or connecting door, a door catch is perfectly adequate. For a heavy or frequently used door, for example in a commercial building, choose a door closer. Both ensure that the door locks properly.
What weights and versions are available?
Dulimex Justor door closers are available in weight levels 1 to 3, with a fixed or adjustable closing speed, allowing you to match the closer to the weight of your door. Additionally, you will find pneumatic door springs and door closers for overlay doors.
Select the weight based on how heavy and how often the door moves. The finishes are available in colors such as silver-grey and stainless steel. For matching hardware, also view the complete Dulimexrange.
How do you set the closing speed?
With the adjustable Justor models, you set the closing speed using an adjustment screw, so that the door closes exactly as fast or slow as you want. Tighten the screw in stages and test in between, until the door falls into the lock smoothly and in a controlled manner without slamming shut.
A properly adjusted door closer closes the door completely, but without the risk of fingers getting trapped. A door that closes too quickly can often be slowed down simply by turning the adjustment screw a quarter turn. Unsure about the correct setting? Our specialists are happy to help.
How do you install a door catch?
You install a Justor door closer by attaching the spring on the hinge side between the door and the frame, so that it puts tension on the door when opening and pulls it shut again when released. Follow the included mounting instructions for the correct position, as this determines how well the closer works.
With a door closer, you mount the mechanism on top of the door and the frame, and then set the closing force. After installation, check that the door closes completely. View the full Dulimexrange for the complete package.
